She Wears It Well
Just received the new palette today from Anastasia Beverly Hills! You know how everyone seems to have a naked or nude toned palette... She Wears it Well is perfect, especially for those girls who don't want 20 options to screw with. The perfect tones are already chosen for you. The brush has a shadow end and a liner end. The liner is perfect for a cat eye and smudgy onyx smoky eye too. You can see the palette and my cat eye above.
These cards show more easy and chic looks you can create with this palette. I also love the illustrations that go along with them...gorgeous. Did I ever mention I went to school for graphic design AND illustration?!
The specs:She Wears It Well: Classic Hollywood glamour with modern Moxie, She Wears It Well was inspired by makeup designed to sculpt, adorn, and beautify the women of the 1930's. Anastasia created her She Wears It Well Eye Shadow Palette to bring the drama and beauty of Hollywood's golden age to the modern girl. The She Wears It Well palette consists of 9 versatile, matte and shimmer high-pigment eye shadows that offer long-wearing, crease-free color. This palette can be worn dry for a sheer wash of color of wet for an intensified finish! The matte shades have a velvety smooth finish for a crease-free eye while the shimmer shades are clinically proven to firm, hydrate, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkle. She Wears It Well retails for $34 and is available at Anastasia.net and Sephora.
just to die for

tropical heat
It's going to be another crazy hot day here, which I think we are all pretty used to now around DC... especially this summer. Heat index is 105 degrees. Mid-July means humid air, constant threats of thunderstorms, and lots of complaining. I'd still take this, and pretend I'm in a tropical paradise, than the freak blizzards this area can get any day.
Today's list: Anthro top, BB Dakota skirt, Theory sandals, Proenza Schouler shades, and the same YSL Nadja bag as yesterday
and the winners are...
Here's the results of the "Wish You Were Here" Contest from Anastasia Beverly Hills that I posted about. Their makeovers turned out fabulous and they obvi had a great trip to LA! Congrats to the lucky winners!

girly
Realized these should have been taken in the sun so you could see the layers, the top is very sheer and flowy and there's a soft jersey short layer underneath. I love clothes that can work double duty, this dress makes a wonderful maxi skirt. I also really love the sweet floral print. Under the 3-toned hair, I'm still a girly girl... who also wears spikes :)
Today's list: Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent convertible skirt/dress, BR cardi, Chloe shades, Belle by Sigerson Morrison shoes, YSL Tom Ford era Nadja rose bag

by the sea
jeans via josephm.com, and my balenciaga
It's probably the urge to be at the beach in this heat (100+ where I am) that makes seafoam green one of my favorite summer colors. I bought this 05 pewter hw seafoam first balenciaga a few years ago. Boy, has she gotten a lot of use. This season has brought so much colored denim that naturally I want a sea foam pair! Because clearly, my red and purple jeans aren't enough...These current/elliot beatnik jeans are the perfect shade and have a slim cuffed shape perfect for summer with a flowy peasant blouse and espadrilles or better yet a slouchy backless tank, an armful of bracelets and cuffs, and flat black sandals.
buy at Joseph M
or Bernard Boutique
p.s. it's probably no surprise what color I dyed my hair this weekend...
