a man's world

I bought this coat from the womens section of my thrift store a while back. It was missing some buttons but with some careful button rearranging of the ones that were left, it looks fine now. I love the tons of pockets and epaulettes and herringbone weave on it. It also has a drawstring at the waist to create a more cinched look. I didn't really think about the name tag but I looked at it again and realized it's by Shades of Greige. Funny because it's a trendy menswear company (maybe that's why I was attracted to it!). I love menswear stuff for its utilitarian look. Maybe that's why my new glasses are also technically Prada men's too. They are bigger and boxier than all the womens I found. My boyfriend was also wearing a great thrifted herringbone jacket...which I might have to borrow.

a day of chic

We decided to use up my NM perk cards and eat at NM cafe. I was surprised by the long wait but very impressed with the food. I had the hummus plate as a starter which is a misnomer because it included pita and hummus, tsatziki sauce, and salad with olives and feta enough for a meal on it's own. The fresh made rolls and strawberry butter were awesome and my meal of chicken quesadilla minus the chicken (I'm a vegetarian) was great. If you will be in Tyson's NM anytime soon I recommend stopping for a drink and hummus plate for a great shopping snack!

a little bit country, a little bit chic

I got a bunch of hand-me-downs from my best friends mom. THANKYOU! I love anything unique and vintage-y so this tiny red and white checked shirt were right up my alley. It might look a little like a picnic table cloth but I love it.

in the army now

I bought this coat from Banana Republic a year or two ago, and it's still one of my favorites, Luckily the military trend is still going strong, although I'd probably be wearing it regardless. Also you can't really see, but I'm wearing my new favorite nail polish: Chanel Particuliere. It's the one on all the models in the Spring/Summer 2010 show. It is the most perfect shade of taupe, kind of a dark mushroom shade.

to the wolves

We are awaiting more snow. No joke. It's going to be months before all this stuff finally melts away. Being off of work has been a great chance to work from home, do loads and loads of laundry, bake cookies and brownies and actually be productive. I am very ready to get out of the house and back to work though.

blizzard 2010

The aftermath of the blizzard! My bf and I took almost 2 hours getting our cars uncovered. You can see my car before and after. Also of course the bf being a goofball and shoving his face in the snow and I found a lovely snow bed to lay on. To top it all off (all 30 inches of snow) we are getting another 5-10 tomorrow night.

Today's list: snow gear! 2 pairs of pants! top ones are marahashi cotton pants which are nicely wind proof, prada shades (come on even in the snow I'm a fashionista at heart)

winter wonderland

I have to admit as sick as I am of winter, this morning was actually beautiful with the freshly fallen snow still covering all the trees. I wish I had thought to pull out my camera, by the time lunch time rolled around it had all melted off. No worries though, this weekend we're going to get another foot or so, leaving plenty more photo opportunities. I just grabbed comfy clothes that I knew would be warm today. Only problem is the buttons are slowly falling off this coat, I wear it so much. Oh well...

deathly cold

It's snowing again! I'm really getting tired of it now-it's no longer pretty, just an inconvenience. We took pictures outside a church today if you are wondering why there are gravestones behind me.
